A 58-year-old woman was charged with DWI after she sideswiped a stopped vehicle near Charles Boulevard and Greenville Boulevard around 11:15 a.m. on August 12, according to a review of Pitt County court records.
The Greenville Police Department crash report revealed that a 2008 Chrysler being driven by Theresa Martin Mincey, 58, of 1701 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Wilson, hit the side of a 2014 Kia being driven by Jacqueline Dawn Smith of 204 Queen Anne Road, Salisbury.
Smith’s vehicle halted at the red light of Charles Boulevard and Greenville Boulevard at the time of the crash. Mincey ran from the scene and stopped at a gas station. She told a witness who followed her that she did not remember hitting another vehicle.
Mincey was also charged with driving while impaired and driving while license revoked. She also had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and red, glassy eyes. She was unsteady on her feet and her speech was garbled. Mincey was going 25 mph at the time of the crash. The speed limit for the area is 35 mph. Her blood alcohol level was 0.23.
