Two teenagers were captured on Wednesday night and charged with criminal homicide.
According to police, 16-year-old Javonterious Starnes and 17-year-old Deaundre Ridley were both arrested and charged with criminal homicide for the June 11 shooting of 55-year-old Beverly Hicks on June 11.
On June 11, two men in a silver Nissan Maxima started shooting at a home on Calais Circle in Antioch, police said. Hicks was asleep in her room when bullets passed through a window and struck her.
According to a release, she was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and eventually died on July 10 from complications of being shot.
The gunfire originated from an argument the suspects were having with Hick’s 16-year-old nephew, according to investigators. The suspects, Starnes and Ridley allegedly robbed and shot 16-year-old Lazerick Lambert on June 8 at Haynes Park Drive.
Police said the bullets that killed Hicks were allegedly meant for Lambert, who also lived in the home.
