Three Plead Guilty to Child Porn Charges in Collin County

A large number of the men arrested in Collin County’s largest ever child porn sting, “Operation Medusa,” have pleaded guilty to the charges.

Ex-Plano 911 dispatcher Kirk Gabino Martinez, 29, pleaded guilty to possessing child porn and was sentenced on Thursday to five years in prison followed by 10 years of probation.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, he shared child porn images and discussed having sex with a 10-year-old with an investigator he thought was the child’s mother.

Gustavo Villalobos, 19, and Scott Roman Palomares, 44, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography. Palomares was arrested two weeks after the sting. Both men had their six-year prison sentences deferred.

“If you traffic in child pornography or you come to Collin County with the intent to have sex with a child, know that we are hunting for you,” sheriff’s Capt. Jim Moody said. “We will protect our children.”

The May 2017 investigation brought about 15 arrests on charges including invasive visual recording, online solicitation of a minor and possession with intent to promote child pornography.
