Suspect in Wilton Murder Officially Arrested by New Castle Police

According to recent police reports, a man police called a person of interest in connection with a murder in Wilton, has been officially arrested.  

Lynn “Deszi” Harris was arrested and charged with the murder of 47-year-old Oletha Willingham in Wilton on Monday, May 7, 2018. 

Officers discovered Willingham suffering from multiple stab wounds while conducting a welfare check at her home on the unit block of Carleton Court; she was declared dead at the scene.

Police arrested the 46-year-old Harris in a home in the 2200 block of North Tatnall Street in Wilmington after police found the victim’s 2007 Ford Edge in the 400 block of West 30th Street on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, around 11 a.m.

Amid the investigation, detectives recuperated evidence connecting Harris in Willingham’s murder and said the two did know each other before the fatal stabbing on early Monday morning. 

Harris has been charged with first-degree felony murder, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited.
