Suspect Arrested in Armed Robbery at Wake Forest Dry Cleaners

According to a statement by authorities on Thursday, a suspect was in custody in association with the robbery of a Wake Forest dry cleaners, one of two armed robberies that were reported this week in the town.

Antonio Devonlee Diggs, 18, of Youngsville, was arrested without incident at the Franklin County Courthouse, Wake Forest police said in a written statement. Diggs had been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

It was not clear immediately if his bond has been set.

According to the report, a man with a knife walked into Triangle Dry Cleaners on Wednesday night on Rogers Road around 6:20 p.m. and forced an employee to give him money, police said. The worker was not harmed.

That employee told police when she called 911 the suspect fled from the scene on foot.

This robbery isn’t related to another armed robbery that happened on Sunday at the McDonald’s on Forestville Road, according to the police.

Wake Forest police are still searching for both suspects and are asking anyone with information about either robbery is asked to call their department at 919-435-9610.
