Maryland: DWI suspect who killed 3 in Oxon Hill crash released without charges

June 8, 2011 — Prince George’s County Police spokesman Cpl. Larry Johnson told DWIHitParade that the man who was operating a GMC Yukon on Indian Head Highway near Oxon Hill early on Sunday morning has been released from custody without being charged in the crash.
Cpl. Johnson said that the operator of the Yukon was released without charges thus is not being identified at this time.  The case has been sent to the Prince George’s County States Attorney’s Office to investigate for possible criminal indictments in a process which may involve presenting the investigation to a Grand Jury.  Indictments are not expected until late summer, said Cpl. Johnson.
Killed in the crash were Eugene Johnson, who was driving the car hit from behind by the unidentified driver.  Johnson’s wife, Cordelia Roberts was killed also along with Gwendolyn Demby.
