Marion Man Gets Convicted of Criminal Sexual Assault

Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti has stated that a Marion man was convicted on Thursday in Williamson County Court of sexually assaulting another person.

Richard Komasinski, 48, was found guilty of on two counts criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony, by a Williamson County Jury, originating from charges filed in August 2015. The charges claim that Komasinski committed the assault at his home and the victim was unable to give consent to the act.

Zanotti said the jury deliberated for about 34 minutes on Thursday before returning the guilty verdict.

“These are always some of the most difficult cases we have to take to trial,” Zanotti said in a news release. “I commend the jury on their decision and hope that this guilty verdict brings the victim some sense of justice. I also thank the Marion Police Department for their great investigative work, and Assistant State’s Attorney Lisa Irvin for all of her assistance on this case.”
