Man with Extensive Criminal Record Arrested Again for Domestic Violence

According to Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, a Kershaw County man has been arrested again after an argument with his wife.

Dennis Robinson, 55, is presently charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

Deputies were called to the home on English Lane just before 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 12 after a report that Robinson assaulted his wife.

The deputy that responded saw the woman bleeding from the face and neck area walking down the road near the scene of the incident. The victim claimed Robinson threatened to slit her throat and shoot her and punched her in the face before she was able to escape from the house.

Robinson at that point shot a gun outside of the home. However, Deputies were able to arrest Robinson, who had two other guns, a spent shotgun shell casing, and a knife.

The deputies were provided with a statement by the victim and pictures of her injuries were taken. She was taken to the hospital for treatment and later released.

Robinson was taken to the Kershaw County Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing.

Robinson is a convicted felon and is forbidden from having a firearm. ATF has been contacted relative to federal firearms charges.

Robinson has a long list of criminal record way back since 1982 with arrests for simple assault and battery, disorderly conduct, grand larceny of a vehicle, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, malicious injury to personal property, trespassing, unlawful use of a telephone, resisting arrest, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, lewd act on a child under age 14, numerous arrests for breach of peace, assault and battery, carrying concealed weapon, criminal sexual conduct, criminal domestic violence high and aggravated, multiple arrests for criminal domestic violence, sex offender registry violation, DUI, first-degree criminal sexual violence with a minor 11 years old, and second-degree fraudulent check and criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 16 years old.
