According to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department, a man from Lancaster County has been charged with holding a woman against her will inside a home and assaulting her sexually.
Officers were asked to carry out a welfare check on a woman just before 8 p.m. on Saturday at a home along the 1200 block of Newport Road in Penn Township, where they met 21-year-old Nicholas Hill, police said.
According to the police, the request came from a “concerned relative” of the victim.
“As a result of the investigation it was determined (a woman) was being held against her will and was sexually assaulted and strangled by (Hill),” police said.
Additional information about the case was not provided.
Hill has been charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, strangulation, simple assault and unlawful restraint.
He is as of now being held in the Lancaster County Prison without bail. Court records show that bail was denied for the “protection of the victim.”
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 2.
