A human trafficking sting in Louisville has led to the arrest of multiple people.
Ads were posted online by undercover officers which lured at least seven people to a hotel on Hurstbourne and Bluegrass parkways.
Those arrested and charged with human trafficking in the undercover sting operation are Thomas Falls, Rodney Ellithrope, Garrett Stanberry, Jason Stinson, Singh Bir Tamang, Robin Reyes-Perdomo, and Nicholas Hilerio Alfaro.
The operation started on Friday and ended on Sunday.
An undercover officer acted as an underage girl and arranged to participate in sexual acts in exchange for money with the suspects individually.
At the point when each suspect arrived, they were arrested.
Advocates said the Kentucky Derby season is a prime time when crimes like this spike.
“A lot of the times, people don’t know, a child could be bought in broad daylight. We see it all the time as I’m sitting here being interviewed, someone is being bought or sold or being groomed into prostitution, human trafficking,” human trafficking survivor Angela Renfro said.
