A police report has stated that a Leesburg man wanted for allegedly molesting a young girl in Marion County was arrested and charged with sexual battery, lewd and lascivious conduct on Tuesday.
A warrant for Rawle Trevor Cuffie had been issued on May 16. He was arrested and taken into custody at 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday in Marion County. Cuffie’s arrest report stated that he is a physical therapist in Crystal River.
While aiding the state Department of Children and Families, sheriff’s deputies were informed about the alleged sexual abuse in September 2017 in Marion County.
The girl who is now 13, told authorities that she had been molested by Cuffie since she was 10 or 11; it stopped before she was 12 years. In January, Cuffie was interviewed by Detective Daniel Pinder, who denied the allegations and he was later released. The detective wanted to do follow-up interviews with Cuffie, but Cuffie could not be found.
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
Rawle does not have a criminal record, according to local court records.
