Lansing Man Faces Murder Charge Following Fatal Stabbing

According to reports by the Lansing Police Department, a 50-year-old man has been charged regarding a stabbing death of a woman on the city’s north side.

Dean Rey Salinas was arraigned on a murder charge on Thursday in 54A District Court.

Police said he is charged with killing 50-year-old Kelly Moubray, who was stabbed in the chest during a domestic dispute on Wednesday night.

According to a news release by Lansing Police Chief Mike Yankowski, Lansing police were called to the 1000 block of Greenwood Street just after 8 p.m. on Wednesday and found a 50-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries from an obvious stab wound.

Yankowski said in a Thursday morning release that the woman was unable to survive her injuries and that police were investigating her death as a domestic violence homicide.

Salinas was arrested at the scene, police said.

Court records do not list an attorney for Salinas.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to call Lansing police at 483-4600 or Detective Sgt. Chris Baldwin at 483-6864.
