Kenneth Double, 47, from Indian River is facing multiple criminal sexual conduct charges from accusations that he sexually assaulted a child 10 years ago on different occasions.
According to Emmet County Sheriff Pete Wallin, Double was arrested by deputies from his office on charges of six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and six counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. The first degree charges are felonies punishable by up to life in prison and the second-degree charges are 15-year felonies.
Wallin said that on February 27, 2018, the alleged criminal sexual conduct incidents were reported to the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office.
An investigation of the alleged criminal sexual conduct that occurred approximately 10 years ago was conducted by Sheriff’s detectives. The victim claimed she was sexually assaulted by Kenneth Double numerous times between the ages of 8 and 10 years old. The claimed assaults occurred in Emmet County’s Bear Creek Township.
An arrest warrant was authorized by the Emmet County Prosecutors Office after investigators submitted their report. Double was arraigned in 90th District Court on Wednesday, his bond was set at $75,000 cash/surety and he remains lodged in the Emmet County Jail.
