An ex-Vigo County commissioner has been charged with drug possession and domestic violence.
According to the Terre Haute Tribune-Star, David W. Decker, 62, appeared in Vigo Superior Court on Friday and he is charged with possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia, invasion of privacy and domestic battery.
Defense attorney Joseph Etling waived a formal reading of the charges and asked for a not guilty plea for Decker. Decker was arrested on Monday and was booked into the Vigo County Jail on $10,000 cash bond.
Decker had served a five-month sentence in federal prison in 2009 after he pleads guilty to distribution of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine.
Decker became a county commissioner in 2007 and resigned as board president after his 2009 arrest.
