Thorp former police chief who was accused of sexually assaulting a young girl is sentenced.
74-year-old Richard Boie was sentenced on Wednesday, July 11 in Clark County to five years in state prison and 12 years of extended supervision.
Boie was found guilty in April to a charge of repeated sexual assault of the same child.
According to a criminal complaint, the victim who was around six years old when the assaults occurred told investigators Boie touched her in her private part more than once.
The complaint says it occurred at Boie’s home, and that he told her not to tell anyone.
The city administrator says Boie was the police chief from 1970-1978.
