Donye Morris, 20, from Evansville was arrested early Wednesday regarding a shooting on Sunday night, according to Evansville police report.
Morris is being held in Vanderburgh County Jail on preliminary charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, and robbery with serious bodily injury.
Morris allegedly robbed a man of about $250 and shot another man multiple times before fleeing the crime scene.
The victim disclosed to Evansville Police he was walking on Ridgeway Avenue about 10 p.m. on Sunday when Morris came up to him from behind and pulled out a handgun.
According to police, Morris shot the other man in the arm and abdomen.
It isn’t clear from the probable cause affidavit whether or not Morris and the alleged victim knew each other.
Morris was charged with attempted murder and attempted robbery in a different case in November 2016. He was found not guilty of all charges during a jury trial in July.
No formal charges were filed against Morris in the Sunday shooting as of Wednesday morning.
