According to reports by state police, Cazenovia man was charged on Thursday with predatory sexual assault against a child which is a felony.
Naven E. Conley, 74, was arrested after a search warrant was carried out at his home and a forensic exam of electronic media was completed by the State Police Computer Crime Unit, police said.
Authorities also added that the investigation started on July 31 after pictures consistent with child pornography were uploaded to a social media platform. Investigators found pictures and videos of sexual abuse of a child younger than 7 and were able to identify Conley as the suspect, according to authorities.
According to police, Conley was arraigned in town of Cazenovia Court and sent to Madison County Jail without bail.
Authorities said the investigation is progressing, adding that on the off chance that anyone has information, they are requested to reach out to the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 315-366-6000.
The investigation was carried out by members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which includes members of the New York State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Madison County Child Advocacy Center.
