A man from Boyceville who was charged with sexually assaulting children multiple times is expected in Dunn County Court for a preliminary hearing in July.
Mitchell D. Miner, 35, is charged with eight offenses of repeated sexual assault of the same child, nine offenses of incest, one offense of child sexual assault with a person younger than 12, one offense of an attempted sexual assault of a child and one offense of child sexual assault with a person younger than 13.
A $200,000 cash bail was set by Dunn County Court Judge Rod Smeltzer on Dec. 5.
Charges were filed in Dunn County Court on Dec. 11, 2017. Miner is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 24.
According to the criminal complaint:
A sergeant with the Dunn County sheriff’s office met with two victims on Dec. 4 who accused Miner of repeated sexual assault that happened over the period of several years. One victim told law authorities that it has occurred too many times to count.
Miner was arrested by Dunn County sheriff’s officers at his home the next day. Miner read his Miranda rights at the jail and claimed: “it’s all true.” According to him, he had sex with one of the victims two to three times a month for the last two to three years but denied being sexually involved with the other alleged victim.
Miner told officers that he had no idea how it began.
